Pedestrian struck and killed in West Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – One person was killed after being struck by a vehicle on the road Saturday evening.

According to Bakersfield police, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a Toyota Highlander on May 18 in the 10000 block of Hageman Road. Officers responded to the area at approximately 8:43 p.m. and found a pedestrian seriously injured on the roadway below. The pedestrian was identified by medical personnel on site.

According to police, the Toyota was traveling east on Hageman Road at the time of the collision. The driver of the vehicle involved remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Kern County Coroner’s Office. This is an ongoing investigation.
