Police are investigating shootings in Arlington’s court district

ARLINGTON – The Arlington County Police Homicide and Robbery Unit is investigating a shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of May 19 on N. Courthouse Road.

At approximately 2:50 a.m., police responded to multiple reports of shots heard in the area. The preliminary investigation indicates two groups were involved in a verbal argument in the parking lot of a hotel in the 1200 block of N. Courthouse Road. During the argument, the suspect brandished and discharged a firearm, striking the victim and two parked vehicles.

The adult male victim was self-transported to an area hospital and remains in critical condition.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing dark pants and a gray hoodie. He fled the scene before the police arrived.
