IIHF – Bowen Byram suspended

The 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Disciplinary Committee has suspended Canada’s Byram, Bowen (#4) for one (1) game for violating Official Rule 61 (Slashing) against Finland’s Puljujarvi, Jesse (#13).

The incident occurred at 3:20 p.m. in the 1st period #39 between Canada and Finland on May 18, 2024.

The Championship Disciplinary Tribunal concluded that the player swung his stick into the groin of FIN #13 with a force that could have endangered FIN #13, thereby violating Official Law 61 (Slash). For the above reasons, the Disciplinary Committee concluded that the player violated Official Game Rule 61 (Slashing) and will be punished as follows:

Due to the suspension, the player will miss today’s game between Switzerland and Canada.
