First look at key position battles for Buffalo Bills ahead of OTAs

This week, the offseason enters the next phase for the Buffalo Bills as they begin Voluntary Organized Team Activities (OTA). This will be the case over the next few weeks before the mandatory minicamp takes place and this will be the last time the team meets before returning to St. John Fisher University in July.

The Bills have undergone significant changes this offseason, which brings challenges for the coaching staff. The roster has more moving parts this season, thanks in large part to the work of the front office attracting as much competition as they have.

The hope is that players will emerge to fill key roles, but the process could be quite lengthy to get there. This is where the challenge comes in, as they will likely be doing more assessments than in years past.

During these voluntary OTAs, and even minicamps, positions will not be won. However, players can give themselves an advantage heading into training camp with their performance over the next few weeks.
