N. Charleston police make arrests in a series of armed robberies

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – North Charleston Police say they have arrested a man in connection with three separate robberies.

Investigators say Watson entered a convenience store on West Montague Avenue shortly after 6 a.m. Saturday and threw gasoline in an employee’s face before taking cash from the register and fleeing the scene.

It is believed he also did the same thing at two other shops, one on Dorchester Road and another on Remount Road.

Watson faces three counts of assault and battery in the first degree, three counts of robbery with an armed hand and two other charges, including failure to stop for blue lights and drunk driving.

Watson was lodged at the Al Cannon Detention Center pending a bond hearing Sunday morning.
