Kurdish teacher Susan Hassanzadeh arrested; Her condition remains unknown

Susan Hassanzadeh, a Kurdish civil activist and Kurdish teacher from Bukan, was arrested four days ago by Iranian security forces who reportedly used excessive force. Her current whereabouts and condition remain unknown.

According to a report obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Iranian intelligence services arrested Susan Hassanzadeh at her home in Bukan on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

A knowledgeable source said Hassanzadeh was arrested without a legal warrant. The arrest was violent and included a search of her home.

After her arrest, Susan Hassanzadeh was taken to an unknown location. There is currently no concrete information regarding her whereabouts or the allegations against her.
