POLICE REPORTS: INVESTIGATION OF A BURGLARY/ASSURANCE, HIT & RUN, DUI

State police say a burglary/assault case filed in March originally led to criminal charges against an Indiana man. However, a review of court records showed those charges were dismissed. The 50-year-old still has two drunk driving cases pending in Indiana County Court.

The investigation into the burglary began at a home on Colonial Drive in White Township. The victim was a 55-year-old woman. They report that $500 in cash was stolen from a coffee table and $600 in damage was caused to an apartment door. The suspect was originally charged with aggravated burglary and robbery, as well as trespassing, theft and simple assault, as well as several misdemeanors.

The man remains in the Indiana County Jail on DUI cases, one of which dates back to April of last year and the other to June. The latest case is listed as his third DUI offense.

Police also investigated damage done to a vehicle parked at the White Township Walmart last week and reported the arrest of a 19-year-old Rural Valley man who was stopped for a traffic violation in Plumville last Thursday.
