Saturday Finals Heat Sheets

Unsurprisingly, many of the biggest names in this competition were eliminated from tonight’s final session. This means that swimming fans who make the trip to watch in person (or tune in via livestream) won’t be able to see Katie Ledecky or Caeleb Dressel race, but there should still be some great racing in store and plenty of chances for some promising swimmers to shine.

Stripes in the free 800 mean Florida Aryan Nehra from India and Georgia Dune Coetzee of South Africa will occupy the respective middle lanes in the first two events of the evening, the fastest heats of the 800 freestyle. With top seeds Katie Ledecky and Kieran Smith withdrawing from the 200m IM final, lane 4 will be long for the Lebanese national Munzer Kabbaraand 17 years old Lilla Bognar.

Two swimmers will compete in the backstrokes this evening, with Phoebe Bacon on the side of women and Jack Aikins on the men’s side, they are looking to follow up last night’s wins in the 200 back with wins in the 100 back tonight.
