The traffic doctor identified a man who was killed in a hit-and-run accident

SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Coroner’s Office has identified a man killed in a hit-and-run crash on the city’s west side late Wednesday night.

Roman Gonzalez, 45, was killed after he was struck by a vehicle in the 1300 block of Culebra Road, near Interstate 10 and Woodlawn Lake, shortly after 9:30 p.m.

According to police, Gonzalez was driving when he was struck by a vehicle that did not stop to render aid. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said there were no witnesses to the accident and they did not have a description of the vehicle. If the driver is found, he will likely face charges of failure to stop and render aid, police said.

The San Antonio Police Department, San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all responded to the call.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing, the police said.
