Tanker truck driver hospitalized, I-80 reopened after milk spill incident in Summit County

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah, May 18, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) – North Summit Fire officials have confirmed that Interstate 80 has reopened after a tanker filled with milk crashed near mile marker 160 in Summit County.

“The single occupant of the tractor-trailer had to be extricated by firefighters and was transported to a trauma center in the Ogden area,” the agency’s statement said.

The tanker truck was filled with 5,000 gallons of milk.

The Summit County Health Department is on scene and coordinating the cleanup effort, the statement said Saturday afternoon.
