Rape: 19-year-old raped for promising marriage in Nishatpura | Bhopal News

Bhopal: A 19-year-old girl approached the Nishatpura police and lodged a complaint against her former fiancé alleging that he had raped her for the past two years on the pretext of marriage. Recently, the accused refused to marry her. Based on her complaint, Nishatpura police on Friday registered a rape case against the accused under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act and initiated investigation. The survivor, who got engaged to the 28-year-old defendant two years ago, was raped on the pretext of marriage. When she later proposed marriage to him, the defendant refused. Despite counseling, when the accused was unwilling to marry her, the girl reported the matter to Nishatpura police and lodged a complaint. TNN
