Man arrested for attacking three Phoenix police officers

PHOENIX, AZ – A 20-year-old man was arrested Saturday morning for allegedly attacking three Phoenix police officers after they tried to break up a fight in which he was involved.

According to Phoenix police, 20-year-old Bobby Freeman was involved in an argument with another person around 10 a.m. near 1st and Filmore streets. When police tried to intervene, Freeman ran away.

Officers were told Freeman may have been armed with a knife and attempted to stab someone before running away.

When officers found and arrested Freeman, he allegedly struck two officers and bit one of them. A third officer suffered minor abrasions in the incident.

Freeman was eventually taken into custody and charged with numerous charges, including aggravated assault on officers.

According to police, the incident involving Freeman occurred near a lawful demonstration. Officials say this incident is not believed to be related to the demonstration.
