2 Buffalo natives try to qualify for the Summer Paralympics in Paris

Andrew Mangan – a Buffalo native who competed at the collegiate level at Stanford – will compete in the men’s single scull in the 2024 World Rowing Finals Olympic and Paralympic qualifying regatta, an event that begins Sunday in Lucerne, Switzerland. Mangan will face eight others. He finished 14th in the single scull at last year’s World Rowing Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.

Madison Eberhard – another Buffalo native who attended Canisius University – competes against Russell Gernaat in the mixed doubles sculls competition, which has eight entries. The duo finished 10th at last year’s World Championships.

The full U.S. Paralympic team will be named by July 1. The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will begin on August 28 and continue until September 8. The rowing events will begin on August 30.
