Police arrest a Nasarawa University student for raping a fellow student

The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested one Gabriel David, a 400 level student of Keffi State University, for allegedly raping a 100 level student of the same institution.

State Police Public Relations Officer DSP Ramhan Nansel made this known while talking to our correspondent in Lafia on Saturday.

Nansel said the suspect was arrested by police officers attached to Agwan Lambu Division near the university in Keffi Local Government Area of ​​the state for allegedly raping the 100 female student on May 9, 2024.

He said: “Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect traveled to the village where he and the victim hail from. Therefore, the victim’s parents gave the suspect some food to give to the victim since they go to school in the same school.

“When he brought the groceries, he called the victim to come to his residence to collect the groceries sent by her parents.

“Upon her arrival, he lured the victim to his room and obtained unlawful sexual relations with the victim.”

Nansel further explained that after his arrest, the suspect was immediately transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia, where he confessed to committing the crime.

“He will be charged in court once the investigation into the matter is completed,” he added.
