A fatal hit-and-run crash is under investigation in Waterbury

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — An early morning hit-and-run accident left a pedestrian dead in Waterbury.

Waterbury police arrived at 62 Chase Ave. around 2:12 a.m. because there was a hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian.


Officers on scene found 46-year-old Dwayne Hunter who had been struck on the roadway. Hunter was rushed to Saint Mary’s Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

After hitting Hunter, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

The Waterbury Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating this accident and anyone with information is asked to call them at 203-346 – 3975.
