A performance of ‘In The Night Garden’ in Cardiff at the weekend was interrupted after reports of a ‘threatening phone call’.

South Wales Police said they were called to the New Theater Welsh capital on Saturday after reports of a “threatening call on the premises.”

Police said their officers carried out a “thorough search of the premises” and “did not find any items of concern”.

“A complete evacuation of the theater took place,” the spokesperson added.

Their investigation into what they say is a “malicious hoax” continues.

In the Night Garden Live is currently touring the UK and was in Cardiff from May 2nd to 4th.

It contains characters from the BBC Children’s series including Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka.

A spokesman for the New Theater said it had been “alerted by telephone to a potentially serious incident” during the performance of In The Night Garden.
