Johnny Knoxville has been sued by former ‘Prank Panel’ producer over Taser incident

With the plaintiff seeking $3 million in damages, this could be Knoxville’s most expensive prank ever.

Johnny Knoxville takes another hit.

The one who is often beaten Donkey Star is being sued by Daniel Curry, a former employee of the ABC series, for negligence and personal injury The prank panel and Eric Andrés writing partner about a 2022 incident involving a Taser.

According to a complaint filed and reviewed Thursday in Los Angeles County Superior Court Weekly entertainmentCurry worked as a segment producer Prank panelwhich Knoxville co-hosted with André and Gabourey Sidibe as Knoxville allegedly “hunted and insulted” him and “without provocation.”

Curry claims that the incident caused him to “freeze, lose all motor skills and collapse with his entire body in a stiff and tense state” and that he ultimately fractured his fibula and ruptured a ligament in his ankle have torn. After the groping, the lawsuit says, the defendants – which also include ABC Signature and Jimmy Kimmel’s production company Kimmelot – “acted in concert to blacklist Curry from production,” damaging his career. At least 25 people witnessed the incident, the complaint states.

Representatives for Knoxville, ABC and Kimmelot did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment Friday.

Curry’s statement of claim says he relied on crutches and a scooter for two and a half months and wore an ankle brace for another two and a half months and then underwent physical therapy for six months. “This attack was spontaneous, surprising and inherently dangerous,” the complaint states. “There was no plan for (Curry) to appear on camera and at no time was he an active participant in any scenes. Rather, (Curry) was an unsuspecting member of the production who fell victim to Johnny Knoxville’s inexplicable and inherently dangerous behavior.”

The lawsuit later alleges that Curry received intimidating text messages from Knoxville, suggesting he was pressured to keep the incident secret.

Curry is seeking $1.75 million for loss of earnings, including future loss of earnings; $950,000 for compensatory and general damages; and $300,000 for special and incidental damages.

This is not the first lawsuit there has been The prank panel has requested this. In December 2022, craftsman Khalil Khan filed a lawsuit against Knoxville over a “horrific ordeal” during the show’s production.
