Georgia head coach accused of filming sexual assault of teenager

According to an arrest warrant, Charles Moore was arrested last Friday on child sexual exploitation charges stemming from an incident in December 2023.

WINDER, Ga. – Loganville police are asking victims to come forward if they were bullied by a Walton County youth cheer coach.

According to an arrest warrant, Charles Moore was arrested last Friday on child sexual exploitation charges stemming from an incident in December 2023.

The warrant states that a 16-year-old girl claimed Moore used a cell phone to film an explicit act with the minor.

According to the US All Star Federation (USASF), Moore is on their restricted and ineligible list, citing misconduct allegations.

According to the organization, the list is created to “inform the broader sports community of individuals who may pose a potential risk.”

Some parents said Moore most recently trained at Star Athletics in Winder before leaving his position with the Atlanta Jayhawks cheerleading team.

“We had heard of irregularities with him,” said a mother who did not want to be named out of concern for her safety. “We had just heard he was scary.”

The mother shared that Moore trained with the Atlanta Jayhawks program in Winder.

Asked if she had ever thought about going there, she said: “We looked at it briefly because so many of her friends had gone there, but the viewing area without parents was a no for me.”

“It’s difficult because there aren’t many gymnasiums. It’s not like baseball where you can just pick another team, so I think as a parent you just have to be very diligent,” the mother added.

He also served as the community cheer coach on the Walnut Grove High School cheer team until January 2023, according to the Walton County School District.

Police are asking anyone who may have been a victim of Moore to call (770) 466-8087.
