Dixon man, 89, charged with sexual assault of child – Shaw Local

DIXON – A Dixon man has been arrested on charges that he sexually assaulted and abused a child.

Richard O. Snider, 89, was arrested Thursday, May 16, and booked on one count of sexual assault of a child using force, one count of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and two counts, according to Dixon police Charged with grooming cases Lee County press release and court records. Snider was taken to the Lee County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 29 at 9 a.m. Snider will remain in the Lee County Jail, according to court records.

The Lee County Prosecutor’s Office, Shining Star Children’s Advocacy Center and the Department of Children and Family Services are assisting in the investigation.
