Watch DAVID DRAIMAN and NITA STRAUSS of DISTURBED perform “Dead Inside” live at SONIC TEMPLE Festival 2024

DISTURBED Frontman David Draiman joined Nita Straussthe guitar shredder for the ALICE COOPER Band, on stage on Thursday (May 16) at Sonic Temple Arts and Music Festival at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio to perform their song together “Dead inside”. Video footage of his performance can be seen below.

Draiman sung before “Dead inside” with ostrich in November 2021 at Whiskey A Go Go in West Hollywood, California.

Published in October 2021, “Dead inside” marked Nitais the first new music since the release of her critically acclaimed debut solo album “Controlled Chaos” in 2018. It starts with Nitais inimitably intricate lead guitar work and begins to meander around the groundbreaking, head-banging lead riff as the intro builds Josh VillaltaThe technical and bombastic drums begin. Then comes the unmistakable singing ability Draiman while delivering his unique, signature brand of hugely catchy vocal melody and a stadium-conquering chorus. The song ebbs and flows through sonic and emotional dynamics, culminating in a brutally violent beatdown in a final rendition of the chorus that ensures the lead hook will replay in the listener’s head for days.

Speaking of collaboration: ostrich previously said: “This is the first time I’ve released my own music with a singer and it’s a great honor for me to take this step alongside a legend like this.” David Draiman. DavidThe voice and powerful lyrics took this song to a level I could never have imagined! And we’re so excited to release this song into the world.

Draiman added: “Serendipity can be really cool. We’ve been friends for years.” Nita sent me the track… I didn’t have time to work on it right away… Then, literally a few days later, while I was killing time in Santa Monica, the whole thing just fell into place. I am incredibly proud of the result and honored to be a part of it.

With “Dead inside”, Nita was the first solo artist in 32 years to have a number one single at rock radio.

In a recent interview with Rob Rush from Long Island 94.3 The shark radio station, Nita spoke about the challenges of writing and recording songs with vocals for her second solo album. “The Call of the Void”which came out last July Sumerian records. While ostrichis the first LP of 2018 “Controlled Chaos”She was instrumental in this, and her latest work sees it that way Alice Cooper Guitarist collaborates with another singer on at least half of the tracks – cooper, Draiman, ARCH ENEMY‘S Alissa White-Gluz And HALESTORM‘S Lzzy Haleamong others.

Nita said, “Yes, it was a Really Educational experience as a songwriter, I go in and don’t write songs that are just for myself, if that makes sense – I think a lot about the structure of the song and the format of the song and what key the singer wouldn’t do it in being too high or too low or too fast or something like that. (This part was) complete (to me) – I mean, not entirely new. I’ve been in bands before, but as far as writing as a solo artist, it was a completely new experience because as a solo instrumental guitarist you can just write whatever you want – you can write a one-minute song, you write a 10-minute song. It’s not broadcast on the radio – there’s no format for it. So it’s just a stream of consciousness. It doesn’t have to have a beginning, middle, end, chorus – it’s just what you feel. And so, for me, working in this new medium was almost like learning how to write a haiku when you’re used to just behaving like a beat poem. So I’m standing out there in the corner of the coffee shop with my beret on, just feeling my poems, and suddenly it’s like, ‘Okay, now you have to have the syllables and verses and rhymes and stuff.’ So I found it very educational to learn how to do it, and I think I’ve developed a lot as an artist and creator over the course of making this record. That’s why I’m just so thrilled that it was as well received as it was.”

The Los Angeles-born guitarist has become a force to be reckoned with, delighting over a million viewers around the world each year. Fans might recognize it Nita as the rock legend’s touring guitarist Alice Cooper and superstar Demi Lovatothe official guitarist of the Los Angeles Ramsas well as her successful career as a solo artist. She has participated in several sporting events including NASCAR Race and WWE pay-per-views, especially her critically acclaimed performance at “WrestleMania 34” in 2018.

“The Call of the Void” debuted as the No. 1 Top New Artist album on the billboard Chart, No. 1 on the iTunes Rock charts and No. 4 overall iTunes Diagram, back only Taylor Swift.
