Kano Laboratories Recalls Super Lube Due to Poisoning Hazard – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

Approximately 3,700 units are being recalled.

Officials urged consumers to immediately keep the recalled Super Lube products out of the sight and reach of children and to contact Kano Laboratories for a full refund. Individuals who purchased the products must email a photo of the product in their possession to receive a full refund.

The recalled products contain either ethylene glycol or low-viscosity petroleum distillates, which must be in child-resistant packaging under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act, the CPSC said.

“Petroleum distillates can enter the lungs and cause chemical pneumonia and/or lung damage, which can be fatal,” the CPSC said.

The items were sold from January 2018 to January 2024 at Grainger Parts, E&R Industrial Sales, Home Depot and other stores nationwide, as well as online at Amazon.com and other websites, for between $5.50 and $445.

Super Lube Syncopen Synthetic Penetrant was sold in a 4-ounce white spray bottle (item number 85004), a 32-ounce or 1-liter black plastic trigger spray bottle (item number 85032), and a 1-gallon white plastic bottle with handle (item number 85010). The container bears the Super Lube brand followed by a flag with green, blue, orange and yellow stripes.

Super Lube fire-resistant hydraulic fluid was sold in a 1-gallon plastic bottle with a handle (item number 86010).

Super Lube Metal Protectant & Corrosion Inhibitor was sold in a 32-ounce or 1-quart black plastic trigger spray bottle with a handle (item numbers 83032/83032A).

Super Lube products have one of the following lot numbers on the bottom or back label: 17348 L24 – 23320 K26, 16120 D48 – 24040 B16 or 17348 L24 – 23297 J49.
