A Toledo man was arrested after a pursuit on the Ohio Turnpike, according to OSHP

According to an Ohio State Highway Patrol spokesman, Nathaniel Woodby, 23, was charged with theft.

ELMORE, Ohio – Authorities arrested a Toledo man on the Ohio Turnpike south of Elmore Thursday evening after a chase, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Sergeant. Ryan Purpura, OSHP spokesman, told WTOL 11 that 23-year-old Nathaniel Woodby was charged with receiving stolen property and failing to obey the command or signal of a police officer.

Purpura said a Lake Township police officer located a Camaro at I-280 and the Turnpike around 8 p.m. Thursday, which was later recovered on the Ottawa County Turnpike. Woodby did not stop when the officer attempted a traffic stop and a chase ensued eastbound on the Turnpike.

Woodby eventually came to a stop at the State Route 51 interchange exit just after 8 p.m. and was taken into custody, according to Purpura.

The incident is being investigated by Lake Township police and the OSHP, Purpura said.
