Man arrested for raping a minor in Liloan, Cebu

A 28-year-old glass installer landed in jail after being accused of raping a minor on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at around 4:30 p.m. in Barangay Poblacion, Liloan City, northern Cebu.

The suspect was identified as married Carlos from Barangay Lahug, Cebu, City (real name withheld to protect the privacy of the victim).

Police Major Eric Gingoyon, chief of Liloan Police Station, said in an interview with SunStar Cebu that the victim was a teenage student.

Gingoyon said the suspect took advantage of the situation to harass the girl since they were the only ones left in his employer’s house.

β€œUna daw gihikap iyang paa sa spek nakuratan siya! Nisulod ning ning saspek sa CR gitawag siya gipasulod,” said the police officer.

(First the suspect touched her leg and she was shocked! Then the suspect entered the restroom and invited her to come over.)

The victim said she went to the bathroom out of fear and the suspect sexually assaulted her.

Carlos was arrested the following day, Thursday, after the victim told her mother about the incident.

The suspect admitted the crime.

He claimed he did it because he liked the victim. (GPL, TPT)
