Suspect arrested in 2002 Rathdrum rape and kidnapping case | Spokane News

RATHDRUM, Idaho – A California man suspected of kidnapping and raping a minor in 2002 was arrested Thursday evening in Rathdrum.

According to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, Eric Ferguson was wanted by Oakley police for allegedly using a deadly weapon to kidnap and rape a victim more than two decades ago.

The sheriff’s office did not release the exact location where Ferguson was arrested, but said Coeur d’Alene police and the Idaho Department of Corrections were involved in his arrest.

Ferguson is currently in the Kootenai County Jail and will be extradited to California to stand trial.
