COASTER, Amtrak service suspended in North County after collision in Carlsbad

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) – COASTER and Amtrak service in Carlsbad has been suspended due to police activity near the Carlsbad Village Station, according to the North County Transit District.

The transit agency sent out an alert about the activity around 7:30 p.m. Roller coasters C643 and C648 have been canceled and a bus bridge will be provided for passengers between Oceanside Transit Center, Carlsbad Village Station and Poinsettia Station, the alert continued.


In Carlsbad, there are road closures near the intersection of Washington Street and Grand Avenue because the train was stopped at the railroad crossing.

No details were initially known about the nature of the police activity.
