2024 ACM Awards Joke About Morgan Wallen’s Chair Throwing Incident

The Academy of Country Music Awards were underway Morgan Wallen‘s recent actions.

While presenting at the 2024 ACM Awards in Dallas on May 16 Noah Reid And Ashley McBryde joked about the “Last Night” singer a month after he was arrested for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct for allegedly throwing a chair from the roof of Chief’s Bar in Nashville. “Last night, after some alcohol, a chair over there really pissed me off,” Noah sang during a while on stage. “I’ve been told that I threw it at someone I’ve never met and my publicist keeps telling me it’s not over yet.”

Ashley joked, “You should be smiling in the mugshot.”

Morgan – who did not attend the show – was booked by Metropolitan Nashville Police back in April. Two weeks later, the 31-year-old addressed the April 7 incident and said he took full responsibility for his actions.

“I didn’t feel right coming out publicly until I made amends with a few people,” Morgan continued X (formerly known as Twitter) April 19: “I have contacted Nashville law enforcement, my family and the good people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of my behavior and I take responsibility.”
