Texas man arrested for vandalizing U.S. Rep. John Carter’s office

The incident occurred in April after police were called to the Republican representative’s office about a possible break-in. The front door of Carter’s office was vandalized with red paint and the phrase “Free Gaza” was spray-painted on the sidewalk.

“Dissatisfied anti-Israel activists destroyed my office in Georgetown,” Carter said on X after the incident. “Let me make two things clear: my support for Israel is unwavering and your intimidation will not work. Secondly, those responsible will be identified and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Funicelli was arrested Thursday morning by the Georgetown and Salado police departments. He was booked into the Bell County Jail on felony graffiti and criminal mischief charges.

Meanwhile, a representative from Carter’s office estimated the cost of repairing the damage would be around $2,000.
