San Pedro resident charged with rape of 15-year-old girl – Love FM Belize News & Music Power

A resident of the Escalante neighborhood in San Pedro Town has been charged with rape of a minor. 33-year-old Ulises Gabriel Melara was arrested by police after a 15-year-old reported that Melara had unlawful sexual intercourse with her against her will. The teenager reported the incident to police on Wednesday last week in the presence of her mother. According to her, the incident occurred on Friday, May 3, at around 9:30 p.m. She told police that she had visited the man at his apartment where the rape took place. The child was medically examined and confirmed to be sexually acquainted. Melara is expected to be arraigned this week.
