La Grande Man to Spend 12 Years in Prison for Sexual Abuse and Transporting Children | News

PORTLAND, Ore. – A La Grande man was sentenced Wednesday to more than 12 years in federal prison for sexually abusing and transporting two Washington children he met online, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District shows Oregon.

Albert Wayne Johnson, 42, faces 151 months in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release.

According to court documents, Clackamas County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call in August 2022 reporting two children had been abandoned at a park in Boring, Oregon. The children said Johnson met them on Snapchat and took them from Washington to Idaho to Oregon, sexually abusing them both.

The two were abused at a motel in Othello and at a campground near La Grande and then dropped off in Boring.

Later in August 2022, Othello police contacted the motel and found surveillance footage showing Johnson and the children. On August 20, officers found him at his home and arrested him.

His charges were filed Oct. 5 and included coercion and enticement of a minor and transportation of a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. He pleaded guilty on January 24, 2024.
