Palm Springs police warn of possible kidnapping of a young woman

Palm Springs police are investigating a possible kidnapping that occurred Thursday afternoon, according to an alert sent to the phones of those registered for the city of Palm Springs’ Community Alerts system.

At approximately 2:57 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to the 1200 block of San Joaquin Drive for a report that a female, approximately 16 to 20 years old, had been taken from the location, possibly against her will.

According to police, the suspect vehicle is a black compact sedan, possibly a 2009-2013 Toyota Corolla. A heavyset Hispanic man was driving the vehicle, while another passenger was a man, whose race is unknown, who police said was wearing a ski mask.
