Firefighter evacuated after crash involving tractor-trailer in Spartanburg County

ENOREE, SC (FOX Carolina) – Officers are responding to a crash that left a fire truck blocking the road near the interstate in Spartanburg County.

The collision occurred near the intersection of Cross Anchor Road and I-26.

Spartanburg County Emergency Medical Services Director Doug Bryson said the Trinity Fire Department was responding to a call when their truck was involved in a collision with an 18-wheeler.

The fire truck left the road and crashed into several trees. Bryson said the driver was flown to the hospital for injuries and was believed to be in stable condition.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol, multiple ambulances and firefighters are on scene.

Officials are urging drivers to avoid the area.
