Elk River Police are asking the public to avoid the scene of an “ongoing investigation” related to BCA

ELK RIVER, Minn. – Local and state authorities were on the scene of an “ongoing investigation” in Elk River on Thursday, police said, and asked the public to avoid the area.

According to the Elk River Police Department, the investigation is focused on the 19000 block of Lowell Street. Police did not provide any information about the investigation but said there was no threat to public safety.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting police but also did not provide further details.

Elk River is about 30 miles northwest of Minneapolis.
