REST OF THE WEEK:

Finally there is some sunshine! We will have a mix of clouds and sun this afternoon. Expect highs in the upper 70s and low 80s.

A storm or two may develop over our far northwest counties (near Murray and Cadiz, KY) this evening. One or two strong gusts of wind are possible there. As these storms move further east, they should dissipate. The chance of rain in Nashville tonight is only 10%, so expect dry weather.

Showers and thunderstorms will move in from the south early on Friday morning. As the day progresses they move northeast producing heavy rainfall, some lightning and thunder. An isolated, embedded strong storm is also possible. In this case, short-term gusty winds are the main cause. However, heavy rain, waterlogging and temporarily poor driving conditions pose a far greater threat.

Rain and storm density will decrease Friday evening.

Rain is expected on Friday with embedded downpours and possibly a few strong wind gusts.
