HOLLIS, N.H. –

Hollis police said a fox that attacked a 4-year-old child tested positive for rabies.

The attack occurred on Tuesday.

The girl’s mother said she grabbed the fox and pinned it to the ground until police arrived, getting a few scratches herself.

Police said the woman and girl received immediate medical treatment and are expected to be fine.
