2 shots, 1 dead at Tuscaloosa apartment complex Thursday morning

Police are at a Tuscaloosa apartment complex early Thursday morning where they say two people were shot, including one victim who was killed.

Capt. Marty Sellers, co-commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, alerted local media to the murder at 3 a.m. Thursday.

Sellers said the Tuscaloosa Police Department and VCU were at the Brookhaven Apartments on James I. Harrison Parkway near Bowers Park.

Two male victims were shot and one is dead, Sellers said.

This is likely the 13th homicide investigated in Tuscaloosa County so far in 2024. Police have not yet said whether a suspicious death earlier this week was a homicide, only that they suspect foul play.

Further information was not immediately available. For updates as they come in, stay tuned to the Tuscaloosa thread.
