According to police, the suspected ammunition theft escalated into a chase in south Laredo

LAREDO, TX. (KGNS) – A suspected shoplifting attempt leads to a high-speed chase.

The incident occurred on Monday, May 6, 2024, just before 6 p.m

Police were called to a local sporting goods store regarding a reported theft of ammunition.

The getaway vehicle was spotted and the chase began.

The vehicle was abandoned in Cuatro Vientos and the suspects fled.

Police searched the area and found a long rifle that the suspects may have had prior to the alleged shoplifting incident.

No arrests have been made so far and the case remains under investigation.
