“5 car against the machine. The winner is (Merab Dvalishvili),” wrote Dvalishvili’s friend Giorgi Kiknadze.

After exiting the damaged vehicle, Dvalishvili appeared to rush to help some of the other accident victims.

Dvalishvili is expected to face UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley in his next fight later this year. This will be O’Malley’s second title defense after defeating Marlon Vera at UFC 299 earlier this year.

After a long winning streak in the cage, Dvalishvili has emerged as one of the biggest stars in the UFC’s bantamweight division. He most recently defeated former titleholder Henry Cejudo at UFC 298.

Preparations for the expected fight between Dvalishvili and O’Malley have been in full swing of late. Dvalishvili and teammate Aljamain Sterling have spoken back and forth with O’Malley and his longtime coach Tim Welch on social media.

Dvalishvili has defeated the likes of Marlon Moraes, Cody Stamann and UFC Hall of Famer Jose Aldo during his ongoing winning streak. He also defeated Petr Yan in March 2023, solidifying himself as the top contender in the bantamweight division.

Fortunately, Dvalishvili was not injured in what appeared to be a serious car accident and he remains focused on getting one step closer to potentially winning the UFC gold belt.
