DJ Akademiks has been sued for sexual assault and defamation by influencer Fauziya Abashe, who claims she was raped multiple times by his friends

Podcaster and internet personality DJ Akademiks was accused of sexual assault and defamation in a lawsuit filed earlier this week.

Fauziya Abashe claims in her lawsuit that Akademiks, real name Livingston Allen, raped her at his New Jersey home in July 2022.

In the complaint filed with the New Jersey Supreme Court, Abashe claims she met Allen through social media in 2021 and the two started dating by chance.

Abashe claims she regularly visited him at home and “did not suspect any ill intentions” when she was invited to his address in July 2022.

She claims Allen “brutally” raped her after two unnamed accomplices drugged and repeatedly raped her at his home earlier that day.

Abashe is suing Allen and the two unnamed people for sexual assault, negligent infliction of emotional distress and defamation and is seeking a jury trial.

In a statement to USA Today, her attorney Tyrone Blackburn said, “Litigation is always a last resort.” After several unsuccessful attempts to resolve this case privately.

“Ms Abashe was left with no choice but to submit the application. “Mr. Allen’s hubris will be his downfall.”

In a livestream on Tuesday, Allen appeared to address the lawsuit, saying, “I’m going to go against the advice of my very expensive lawyer today, but I’m still not going to say much.”

“My only comment should really be, whatever this is, it’s going to be heard in court.”

“Just know, according to the law and according to the police and according to all sanctioning government agencies.

“Akademiks is an innocent man who has never been charged with anything to do with deviance or anything like that, has never been charged and never will be charged. That’s a fact.’

Allen, who also co-hosts Complex’s Everyday Struggles, added that the lawsuit was a “shock” and said it was a “money tree situation.”

The morning after the alleged incident, Abashe said she didn’t know what happened until Allen showed her footage of the incident on his pool deck.

Abashe allegedly went to the police to report the assaults and had a sexual assault forensic exam conducted.

Allen has over 1.5 million followers on X and another 2.8 million subscribers on YouTube and 500,000 on Twitch.

He regularly shares his thoughts on the music industry and appeared to address the events cited in the lawsuit in a video last December.

In the video, he said he came from a party and forgot that he had invited an unnamed girl to his house.

The next morning he accused the woman of willingly having sex with his two friends.

In his livestream earlier this week, Allen appeared to confirm that a police investigation had been conducted into the claims.

He said: “I told the truth: Hey, the police came, they looked, we gave them everything, pretty much everything is documented, caught on video.”

“They could see it with their own eyes.” They didn’t just say, “Ak, you’re good” – and it’s not just word of mouth – you’re officially cleared.

“We couldn’t file a criminal complaint. You are not criminally liable. All other people in the situation were also acquitted.’
