Lawrence police continue to investigate the death of a woman

LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) – Lawrence police are continuing their investigation into the death of a woman whose body was found Monday evening on the city’s east side.

According to a post on the Lawrence Police Department’s Facebook page, officers were called to a medical emergency in an area east of 25th Terrace and Haskell Avenue around 8 p.m. Monday.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a 35-year-old woman who was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Lawrence police, there were no obvious signs of trauma on the woman.

According to the Facebook post, officers began interviewing potential witnesses and called in investigators to further work the case.

Lawrence police investigators “worked diligently to trace the woman’s actions and interactions in the minutes and hours leading up to her deceased discovery.”

Since there were no obvious signs of death until the autopsy, police continued their investigation.

The woman’s identity was not known as of Wednesday morning.
