CRA allocates $280,000 to study improvements to Jimmy Carter Boulevard

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) has allocated $280,000 of its $1 million budget to fund a comprehensive study to improve safety, beautification and transportation infrastructure along Jimmy Carter Boulevard in the Gateway85 Community Improvement District (CID). Gwinnett County will contribute an additional $120,000 to this project.

“We are excited to receive this grant from the Atlanta and Gwinnett County Regional Commission to undertake this transformational effort,” said Emory Morsberger, executive director of Gateway85 CID. “This study represents a critical step toward creating a sense of place and community for residents, businesses and visitors to our neighborhood. »

With more than 3,000 businesses employing 47,000 people, Gateway85 CID members represent 16% of Gwinnett County’s workforce. Leveraging the expertise and resources of ARC and Gwinnett County, the study aims to identify innovative solutions to improve the economic impact of the Gateway85 CID, which currently stands at $16.6 billion dollars.

The findings and recommendations of the study are expected to serve as a roadmap for future development and investments within Gateway85 CID, ultimately enriching the quality of life of all stakeholders and community members.
