Two violent attacks in the LA County subway system – NBC Los Angeles

Authorities on Tuesday were searching for suspected assault victims in separate, unrelated attacks that occurred hours apart within the Los Angeles County subway system.

The first incident was reported around 7 p.m. Monday when a teenager was stabbed following a robbery aboard a Metro bus in Glendale near West Los Feliz Road and South Central Avenue.

According to Glendale police, three juvenile suspects approached the victim and took his backpack before attacking him.

A police officer who was near the crime scene quickly took action and arrested two of the suspects, authorities said.

The third juvenile suspect was still at large on Monday morning.

Then, two hours later, a separate, violent attack occurred in an elevator at the Metro Green Line station in South Los Angeles, injuring a woman.

A man stabbed the female victim at the subway station along Vermont Avenue and the 105 Freeway around 9 p.m. and fled, police said.

According to police, the man was on a train heading to the Hawthorne area last week.

The two stabbings were unrelated.
