A Tompkins High School teacher was arrested for alleged possession of child pornography, authorities said

KATY, Texas (KIAH) — Parents at Tompkins High School are having heated conversations with their children after a teacher at the school was arrested for possession of child pornography.

James Stone was arrested Monday in Montgomery County on 10 counts of child pornography. He is now in the Fort Bend County Jail after being arrested on a search warrant at his Katy home.

Investigators with the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office said Stone had thousands of images and admitted to taking pictures at the school and other areas around Katy, such as swimming pools and on some beaches.

The police also fear that there could be other victims in this case and are calling on anyone who had contact with him to come forward.

According to our news partners, Katy ISD sent a statement to parents saying Stone has not been on the Tompkins campus since last week and will not be returning to school. The district also said it “takes incidents of this nature very seriously and cooperates fully with law enforcement.”

Anyone with information about this case or potential victims should contact Det. Ashley Walker of the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office at 281-364-4211.
