Teen arrested in shooting incident | The Hawkeye – Burlington, Iowa

A teenager was arrested Friday afternoon for firing a gun in a Burlington alley.

At approximately 3:07 p.m., Burlington Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 700 block of S. 8th Street.

When officers arrived, they found several bullet casings in an alley near that location, according to a news release from the Burlington Police Department.

During their investigation, officers learned that a juvenile male had run from the alley into 801 S. 8th.

A search warrant was issued and additional evidence was collected.

The juvenile male was arrested and charged with being a minor armed with a dangerous weapon and reckless use of a firearm.

The teenager was transferred to the juvenile detention center.

No injuries were reported in this incident.
