Russians attack 14 communities in Kharkiv Oblast, wounding three, including a 16-year-old

UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, May 7 — Russians attacked 14 municipalities in Kharkiv Oblast, including Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka and Berestove, with artillery and mortars, and hit Zolochiv, Petropavlivka and Borova with air strikes. The governor of Kharkiv Oblast, Oleh Syniehubov, reported on the attacks on his Telegram channel.

On May 6, at 10:20 p.m., the Russian military dropped a KAB glide bomb on Borova, a village in the Kharkiv region, injuring three people: a man and a woman, 55 and 54 years old, and a 16-year-old Girl .

A 55-year-old man was killed by an unknown explosive device in the village of Blyznkiuky in the Lozova district.

Russia has relentlessly attacked the Kharkiv region since the start of the full-scale invasion because it is close to both the border and the front line. Their attacks intensified in December 2023 when Russia began exploiting the lack of air defense systems and missiles caused by delays in US military aid to Ukraine.

Russian shelling of Lyptsi damaged a two-story residential building.

In Kozacha Lopan, roofs of private houses and outbuildings caught fire after Russian attacks. In Cherkaski Tyshky, fire caused by Russian shelling spread to a tractor, two outbuildings, a cafe building destroyed in earlier attacks and trees near an impact site.

Russian artillery attacks on Vovchansk damaged two private houses.

Syniehubov also reports that 112 children with families or caregivers were evacuated from the region’s Bohodukhiv, Izium and Kharkiv districts.
