Three people died in a DUI-related crash on Highway 89 near Tuba City Sunday afternoon – KAFF News – Flagstaff

Three people were killed in a multi-vehicle accident near Tuba City on Sunday afternoon. According to DPS, the accident occurred around 3:13 p.m. on southbound Highway 89 at milepost 492. A pickup truck was traveling northbound for an unknown reason and went directly onto the shoulder. He then overcorrected to the left, back onto the highway and into southbound traffic. The truck then crashed into another vehicle that was traveling southbound. Three of the five people in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was arrested by the FBI on manslaughter charges following an investigation into driving under the influence. The incident remains under investigation.
