1 dead, another hospitalized after woman showing signs of intoxication crashes into W. Houston METRO stop

HOUSTON – One person died and another was hospitalized after a vehicle crashed into a METRO bus stop in west Houston Monday.

It happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Westheimer Road. and Dr. Briarhurst.

According to HPD Lt. Va’shawnda Mclean, the driver, a woman believed to be in her 40s, crashed into the METRO bus stop. Mclean said she showed signs of intoxication and put up some resistance before officers were able to arrest her.

The two people who were sitting at the bus stop were taken to hospital. One of them died from his injuries. The condition of the second person is unknown at this time.

Officers continue to investigate the crash.
