Riverside Elementary School educator charged with multiple felony counts of child sexual abuse

SPOKANE, Wash. – A Riverside Elementary School teacher has been arrested on child exploitation charges.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Division arrested 28-year-old Dallas Shuler on two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and Possession and Trafficking of Sexually Explicit Content Involving Minors. He was arrested Saturday morning and booked into the Spokane County Jail.

The investigation began on May 6 when Spokane County investigators received information about the alleged child sexual abuse video. A day later, the suspect was identified and investigators learned he was employed as a paramedic at Riverside Elementary School.

Investigators contacted school administrators and informed them of the information. Shuler agreed to speak with investigators. At that time, the School Resource Deputy told Shuler that he was not allowed on any Riverside School District property. Shuler was informed that if he returned without permission, he would be arrested for trespassing.

On May 11, investigators contacted a sheriff’s office deputy and probable cause was found to charge Shuler with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor: sexual exploitation of a minor, dealing with the depiction of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct , and possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexual conduct Explicit conduct.

Shuler’s bond was set at $25,000.
