Pet dead, resident displaced after house fire on Kemper Road in Danville

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – Danville firefighters are investigating a house fire that started early Monday morning and killed a pet.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. on May 13, firefighters were called to the 400 block of Kemper Street. Upon arrival, emergency services found heavy smoke coming from the house.


Once on scene, the Danville Fire Department learned that all residents had safely escaped the fire. However, when the emergency services searched the house, they found a dead pet.

No other injuries were reported.

The department said the American Red Cross will assist residents.
