Accident and arrest in Caldwell County

In a single-vehicle crash in Caldwell County early Saturday morning, the driver suffered moderate injuries and was arrested. State troopers report that 20-year-old Luke B. Carr of Polo suffered moderate injuries in the accident that occurred around 2:25 a.m. on Route B near Cowgill. According to the report, Carr was northbound when he crossed the center line and went off the west side of the road. He crashed into an embankment, crossed the road and crashed through a fence before crashing into a tree and coming to rest in a stream bed. He was taken to Liberty Hospital for treatment. He wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

Toppers also arrested Carr for alleged drunk driving and underage possession of alcohol. He was released for treatment.
