Brad Keselowski clinched the NASCAR Cup Series victory at Darlington Raceway on Sunday when the drama became the talk of the town with about 10 laps to go.

Chris Buescher and Tyler Reddick battled for first place in the final stages of the Goodyear 400. Reddick’s car slid into Buescher as he tried to overtake him at the front. Instead, Reddick pushed Buescher against the wall, costing both of them a chance to win.

It was the second straight week Buescher missed out on a win, as he finished 0.001 seconds behind Kyle Larson last weekend in Kansas.

Buescher confronted Reddick in pit lane and had to be separated from the driver. He mentioned after the race that he was still trying to qualify for the NASCAR playoffs, while Reddick was essentially a lock after winning a race earlier in the season.

“This does not work for me. We don’t have that sticker on my door right now,” he said of the NASCAR playoff sticker on his car. “You have to get better. We’ve been competing against each other for so long, quite well.”

Then last week and this week he lamented his chances at Victory Lane.

“We had a chance to win races two weeks in a row,” said Buescher. “First of all, I will keep reliving in my head what I would have done differently (at Kansas). Secondly, I need someone else to handle it more maturely.”

Reddick apologized for the incident.

“It’s hard to walk away knowing that I took advantage of someone and took away their chance to win the race that really lets me drive clean,” Reddick said. “I have to work on that and try to make better decisions.”

For Keselowski, he took his first NASCAR victory since 2021. He had been close all season, but finally got the chance to celebrate in Victory Lane again.
